EventStream - Virtual Event Case Study - Zoom Integration
Many of our customers have asked how to let donors, sponsors, bidders, etc join an EventStream broadcast. The easiest and most cost effective way is to use the Zoom platform. This allows you to setup a Zoom call and invite guest speakers into a waiting room where you can bring them into the stream one-at-a-time (or two-at-a-time, etc). How Does it Work
On of our foundation clients wanted to invite 5 guest speakers into the EventStream broadcast. To make this happen, they first created a Zoom meeting using a Zoom Pro account.
Then, they sent the invite to the 5 guests with instructions to join the meeting when the broadcast started. By enabling the Waiting Room feature, the charity would ensure that no one would “Zoom Bomb” the meeting before they were ready.
Using Zoom Pro, you can stream your meeting right to ClickBid’s EventStream service. This just requires the credentials you can find in your ClickBid admin under Event Central > Live Broadcast.
When the event was ready to start, the organization started the Zoom meeting and then started the broadcast. Their camera was sent to all their bidders who were bidding in the silent auction.
As the organization progressed, they granted access to each guest in the waiting room and their video was shown side-by-side along with audio. When the organization was done with the interview they sent the guest back to the waiting room and admitted another guest.
At the end of the event, the organization ended the meeting and it automatically ended the broadcast. Zoom also recorded the meeting so they could add it to YouTube so people could re-watch it later.
